The Response: Content Is King

The scene opens not in a gym, but in a high-end, neon-lit dressing room. Ricky Romero is checking his reflection in a ring light, adjusting a pair of expensive sunglasses. He’s holding a gold-plated smartphone on a gimbal, filming himself.

(To his phone)
"What is up, Romero-Nation? We are live! Like, comment, subscribe, and hit that bell, because we are about to address the 'man of the hour'—or should I say, the man of the last century?"
He turns the camera toward him, his smile widening into something sharp and predatory. He drops the "influencer" voice for a second, his eyes hardening.

"Adam. I saw your little black-and-white art film. Very 'prestige.' Very 'serious.' You talked about wrestling being a truth. Well, here’s a truth for you, Adam: Nobody buys a ticket to watch a man breathe in the dark. They buy a ticket to see me. They want the lights, the cameras, the viral moments, and the magic that you—with all your medals and your 'surgical' snapdowns—couldn't produce if your life depended on it."
He paces the room, the neon reflecting off his designer jacket.

"You’re obsessed with that first match. You think a 'clean victory' means you’re the better man? No, Adam. It means you were a boring distraction on a night when my lighting was off. You’re a technician; I’m a tectonic shift. You’re a wrestling clinic; I’m a global event. You want to make the world small? I’m making it huge. I’m putting SWF on the map while you’re still trying to figure out which wrist-lock looks best in a textbook."
He stops, leaning into the lens, his face inches from the camera.
RICKY ROMERO
"This Sunday at SLAM, you can bring your 'Gold Standard.' You can try to ground me, suffocating me with your 'fundamentals.' But you can’t ground a heartbeat, Adam. You can’t tackle a headline. Every time I slip your grip, every time I play to my crowd, your 'discipline' is going to crumble. Because deep down, it kills you that the world would rather watch me fail than watch you succeed."
He puts his sunglasses back on and flashes a blinding, arrogant grin.
RICKY ROMERO
"The 'Standard' is about to be discontinued. The 'Role Model' is about to go viral. And this time, Adam... I’m making sure the camera gets your good side when I leave you face-down in the dirt."
RICKY ROMERO
"Check the metrics, kid. I'm the main character."
He snaps his fingers, and the screen cuts to a rapid-fire montage of Ricky’s flashiest high-flying moves, set to a heavy synth beat, ending with the #SundayNightSLAM hashtag in neon pink.
