CHAPTER 6: š”ļø AGENTS OF ORDER: OPERATION āBAIT THE PARALLAXā - āTHE THREAD AS A TRAPā
By: Agents of OrderDate: June 5, 2026
Location: ORDER BLACKSITE ā DIMENSIONAL LAB, SUBLEVEL 9
The moment Liger Llama says the words—
“Use the Thread as bait.”
—the entire room shifts.
Not physically.
Emotionally.
Strategically.
Existentially.
Agent K nods once, the kind of nod that means we’re doing something incredibly dangerous and pretending it’s fine.
Agent Y grins like she’s been waiting for this exact brand of chaos.
Agent I’s visor flashes warning sigils.
Agent Lā1 and Lā2 both mutter something that sounds suspiciously like “oh no.”
Liger Llama?
He looks like a man who just volunteered to be the worm on a cosmic fishing hook.
š„ PART I — THE PLAN IS SET
Agent K steps forward.
“Liger. You will act as the anchor. The Thread will act as the lure. We will create a controlled dimensional instability to draw The Parallax toward you.”
Liger’s eyes widen.
“Controlled instability? That sounds like a contradiction.”
Agent Y pats the glass.
“Welcome to our Tuesday.”
Agent I brings up a hologram of the Thread.“
The Parallax will sense the activation spike. It will attempt to breach. We intercept it midāmanifestation.”
Agent J adds:
“And if it fully manifests, we’re all dead.”
Liger stares.
“Cool. Cool cool cool. No pressure.”
š„ PART II — PREPARING THE BAIT
The chamber transforms.
Dimensional anchors descend from the ceiling.
Antiāchaos pylons rise from the floor.
A containment ring hums to life around Liger.
Agent O checks the stabilizers.
“Containment grid at 92%. Any higher and we risk collapsing the floor into a pocket dimension.”
Liger’s voice cracks.
“Please don’t do that.”
Agent K ignores him.
“Liger. Focus on the moment the Thread reacted. The moment you almost accepted the Parallax’s offer.”
Liger groans.
“Why is everything about my worst decisions?”
Agent Y smirks.
“Because your best decisions are boring.”
š„ PART III — THE THREAD AWAKENS
Liger closes his eyes. The Thread pulses.Once.
Twice.
Then violently.
The chamber lights flicker.
Agent I shouts:
“Dimensional spike! Parallax frequency rising!”
Agent J draws her blade of stabilized shadow.
Agent Lā1 and Lā2 brace for impact.
Agent Y twirls her baton, delighted.
“Oh yeah. He’s biting.”
The air tears open.
A vertical seam of violet light splits the chamber.
THE PARALLAX BEGINS TO MANIFEST.
š„ PART IV — THE PARALLAX TAKES THE BAIT
A voice echoes from the breach.
“You call to me, little story-thread.”
Liger screams:
“I DIDN’T CALL ANYTHING! THEY MADE ME DO IT!”
The Parallax laughs.
“You are becoming interesting.”
Agent K steps forward.
“Parallax. You are contained. Stand down.”
The Parallax flickers.
“Order. Always trying to cage infinity.”
Agent Y slams her baton into the containment ring.
A shockwave of antiāchaos energy ripples outward.
The Parallax recoils.
“You dare—”
Agent Y grins.“Oh, we dare.”
š„ PART V — THE TRAP SPRINGS
Agent I activates the dimensional snare.
Agent O locks the breach.
Agent J strikes the Parallax’s forming core.
Agent Lā1 and Lā2 anchor the containment field.
Agent K issues the command:
“Now!”
The containment ring collapses inward, trapping the Parallax’s halfāformed manifestation.
The entity shrieks.
“You cannot bind a story—”
Agent K cuts it off.
“We just did.”
Liger collapses to his knees, exhausted.
The Thread dims.
The Parallax is trapped.
For now.
š„ PART VI — THE AFTERMATH
Liger breathes heavily.
“Did… did we win?”
Agent I checks the readings.
“We captured a fragment. Not the whole entity. But enough to interrogate.”
Agent Y taps the containment sphere.
“Hey glitch-boy. Guess who’s the bait now?”
The Parallax hisses.
“This is not over."
Agent K nods.
“It never is."
He turns to Liger.
“You did well.”
Liger blinks.
“Can I go home now?”
Agent Y laughs.
“Oh no. You’re part of the plan now.”
Liger groans.“I hate being part of the plan.”
