🎙️ “THE MOMENT THE LIGHTS WENT OUT” — SHAWN FX REFLECTS

By: Shawn FX
Date: May 30, 2026
Location: A Dimly Lit Locker Room, Somewhere in the Bowels of the Arena

The camera flicks on.

A single bulb swings overhead, casting long shadows across concrete walls.

Shawn FX sits on a bench, elbows on his knees, hair still damp, eyes still red.

There’s a bruise blooming across his jaw, and the faint imprint of Adam Glory’s forearm still marks his neck.

He’s not angry.

He’s not broken.

He’s… thinking.

And that’s always dangerous.

He lifts his head.

THE FIRST BREATH AFTER NO BREATH

Shawn FX:

“You ever wake up and the first thing you feel is the floor?”

He chuckles — low, dry, self‑aware.

Shawn FX:

“That’s what it’s like when Adam Glory chokes you out.

One second you’re fighting.

The next second you’re fading.

And then… nothing.”

He rubs his neck.

Shawn FX:

“I’ve been hit.

I’ve been slammed.

I’ve been dropped on my head more times than I can count.

But being choked out?

That’s different.”

He looks up at the camera.

Shawn FX:

“That’s personal.”

THE MOMENT EVERYTHING WENT DARK

He leans back, staring at the ceiling.

Shawn FX:

“I remember the pressure.

I remember the sound of the crowd fading.

I remember thinking,

‘This is not how Shawn FX goes out.’”

He smirks.

Shawn FX:

“And then I went out.”

He snaps his fingers.

Shawn FX:

“Just like that.”

He shakes his head, amused at his own expense.

Shawn FX:

“You know what the worst part is?

Not the pain.

Not the embarrassment.

Not the fact that Adam Glory gets to walk around saying he ‘put me to sleep.’”

He leans forward.

Shawn FX:

“It’s the silence.

That moment where your body stops fighting before your mind does.

That moment where you realize you’re not invincible.”

He taps his chest.

Shawn FX:

“I hate that moment.”

THE REALIZATION

He exhales slowly.

Shawn FX:

“But here’s the thing about Shawn FX…

I don’t stay down.

I don’t stay quiet.

And I sure as hell don’t stay choked out.”

He cracks his neck.

Shawn FX:

“Adam Glory didn’t beat me.

He didn’t out‑wrestle me.

He didn’t out‑think me.”

He points to his neck.

Shawn FX:

“He caught me.”

He shrugs.

Shawn FX:

“It happens.

Even to the great ones.”

He smirks.

Shawn FX:

“Especially to the great ones.”

THE LESSON

He stands, pacing slowly.

Shawn FX:

“You learn a lot about yourself when you wake up on the mat.

You learn what hurts.

You learn what matters.

You learn what you’re willing to do next.”

He stops.

Shawn FX:

“And me?

I learned something important.”

He rubs the back of his neck.

Shawn FX:

“Adam Glory is dangerous, disciplined,  and everything he says he is.”

He adjusts his ice pack.

Shawn FX:

“But so am I.”

THE SOLEMN VOW

He steps closer to the camera, eyes burning now.

Shawn FX:

“Adam… you got me.

You got the choke.

You got the moment.

You got the highlight reel.”

He tilts his head.

Shawn FX:

“But you didn’t get the last word.”

He taps his chest again.

Shawn FX:

“Because I’m still here.

I’m still breathing.

I’m still fighting.”

He smirks.

Shawn FX:

“And the next time we meet?

I’m not letting you get that close.

I’m not letting you wrap those arms around my neck.

I’m not letting you take my air.”

He leans in.

Shawn FX:

“I’m taking yours.”

THE FINAL REFLECTION

He sits back down, calmer now.

Shawn FX:

“Being choked out doesn’t make me weak.

It makes me aware.

It makes me sharper.

It makes me hungry.”

He smiles — that trademark Shawn FX smirk.

Shawn FX:

“And a hungry Shawn FX?

That’s a problem for everybody.”

He stands, grabbing his jacket. He winces clearly in pain.

Shawn FX:

“Adam Glory… enjoy your moment.

Because the next time the lights go out?”

He pauses at the door.

Shawn FX:

“It won’t be me fading.”

He walks out.

Fade to black.
